70% Of UK Schools Using Tablet Computers

According to recent research almost 70% of primary and secondary schools in the United Kingdom are using tablet computers such as iPads, although it also claims that there is no official evidence that there have been any academic improvements due to their use. The research was undertaken by charity Tablets for Schools and they studied 671 state and independent schools.

Tablets In Schools

During the study it was revealed that a high number of pupils admitted that they took an internet enabled device such as a smartphone or a tablet computer to bed to continue social media interaction.

Tablet computers are used in academy schools to more of an extent that state secondary schools but it showed that the underlying trend is for an increasing number of tablet computers in schools and even the schools that were not currently using tablets almost half of those schools confirmed that they would soon be using them.

Over the next 2 years the number of tablet computers in schools is predicted to more than double and rise from about 430,000 to almost 900,000.
