Amir Khan To Wear 24 Carat Gold Shorts Vs Devon Alexander
Amir Khan is set to wear some seriously expensive 24 Carat Gold Shorts when he fights Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The shorts have a genuine 24 carat gold thread woven through the waist band and also has a crocodile trim. The estimated cost of the extravagant shorts is somewhere between £20,000 and £30,000.
Apparently he is doing it for his daughter and was quoted as saying ‘I want our baby to be able to say one day that her father was a great champion.’ In order to become that great champion he will need to defeat Alexander and then go on to beat Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao.
Khan had previously said that he would retire at 28 but has now said: ‘I feel better today than when I was 26. Physically and mentally. Healthier and stronger. Still coming to my peak.’ and he added when referring to his wife and daughter ‘Everything I do from here is for them.’
He also had a bit of a dig Mayweather saying: ‘Floyd has to earn big because he spends so much. I don’t splash out on things like he does. I don’t need to make billions, just enough to keep my family and give my daughter an education. I’m not a big spender.’
