App Store Customers Spend Nearly $500 Million In 1 Week

For many businesses January is a quiet month but the Apple App Store saw customers spend almost $500 Million (about £310m) on apps and in-app purchases during January’s first week. The busiest day was January 1st and it was the busiest in App Store history. 2014 saw the App Store generate over $10 Billion (about £6bn) in revenue for developers.

Apple’s Eddy Cue said “This year is off to a tremendous start after a record-breaking year for the App Store and our developer community. We’re so proud of the creativity and innovation developers bring to the apps they create for iOS users and that the developer community has now earned over $25bn.”
