BlackBerry Boosted By Ford’s Use Of BlackBerry QNX For Sync 3
Today Ford proudly announced the newest version of its in car entertainment system and whilst it boasted of new features, they didn’t make a big deal of the big change which is that it now uses the BlackBerry QNX operating system instead of the Microsoft technology used previously. Ford’s new system is called Sync 3.
Microsoft had made a very big deal of its relationship with the car giant. Microsoft were involved with the first Sync in 2007. BlackBerry have now got involved in what will surely be another big boost to their comeback. The new QNX powered system has more modern features, which include touchscreen and it also works with Spotify.
Ford were quoted as saying “hardware and software decisions were based on identifying the technology that would best meet the expectations for performance by our customers.”
