Bringing Human Interaction Back to the Real World – GetReal

Get-Real-App

If you feel that your social life consists of more typing than talking, then we’ve found the perfect new APP to bring your social interactions back to the real world.  Bridging our acquired inclination to suss people out in the virtual world with the human need for real world interaction, American startup GetReal presents a list of people in your vicinity who you can ping for a quick coffee or lunch.

Unlike apps like Tinder which focus on dating, GetReal is about revealing a wide scope of interesting people to meet for general purposes, be it career and business networking or hobbies and interests.  Of course if dating stems from that, so be it but that is not the starting point.  The App, whose motto is “Show your emotions not your emoticons” has no facility for texting, only the ability to send an invitation to meet at a nearby location and a half an hour window to accept or decline an invitation.  The app, which has already been adopted by techies in San Francisco and New York, is sure to bring spontaneity and chance back to the digital world of social interaction and more importantly merges it with the real world.  While an email or text message can never convey the sense of someone you can get from meeting over even a quick coffee, we have a feeling that it this app is sure to take off as people may be finally ready to build their network to the real world.

The App is currently available on Apple and will also be available on the Apple Watch.
