Contactless Payment. Not so secure
Where there is a good, there is bad as well. Hacking is an evil faced by software and software developers almost since the time of computer itself. The problem is that you cannot make something 100% fool proof and there always been that element of hacking the system by someone more genius and smart than the person who develop the system. Same is the case with contactless payment card. Though easy to use, contactless payment card is an easy target for hackers. This has been revealed by a new research conducted by Consumer Watchdog. In the research they used a card reading technology and able to steal details from 10 contactless payment cards.
“It’s vital to protect consumers from fraudsters who have the knowhow to develop mobile card readers with much greater reading distances than those used by retailers,” a security expert from European standards for contactless cards Mr Peter Eisenegger said. He further warned that it may be possible for criminals to get their hands on this card reader.
