iPhone 6 Contributes To Apple’s Increased Market Share
Kantar Worldpanel are a market research company and they believe that Apple has gained smartphone sales across several country markets thanks to the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 Plus hasn’t proved as popular though.
The company gathered sales data for the quarter concluding at the end of October 2014 and discovered that Apple had gained an impressive ten percentage points of smartphone sales share in the UK, accounting for almost 40 percent of all smartphones sold during that period.
Dominic Sunnebo of Kantar said: “Apple has experienced a huge jump in sales share across almost all major markets thanks to the launch of the iPhone 6. This success is particularly evident in Great Britain where Apple now has its highest ever share of sales with 39.5%. Most of these sales were driven by loyal Apple users. Some 86% of British buyers upgraded from an older iPhone model, only 5% switched across from Samsung.”
