Microsoft Bing Dropped By Facebook

Microsoft Bing dropped by by Facebook is the latest blow to Microsoft. We recently reported that Microsoft had been dropped by Ford as the company providing the in car entertainment software and they have been dealt another blow as their Microsoft Bing search results have now been dropped by Facebook who are now using their own search technology which concentrates predominantly on searching the content within Facebook. Officials of both companies have confirmed the switch but Microsoft have said they will continue the partnership in different areas.

Facebook Drop Microsoft

Microsoft and Facebook have worked together on various projects. Microsoft are currently trying to expand Bing’s charter away from a Web search only service. They have been focusing on ways that they can use Bing in other products like Office. Bing still provides Yahoo search results, who have been looking to escape a 10 year search partnership with Microsoft. It is though that they may be able to get out of this in 2015.
