Moving around on a bike in a busy city like London is hassle free, especially in peak office commuting hours. If you want to get a ride, a Boris Bike is the best option. Launched in 2010 and originally sponsored by Barclays Bank there are around 750 docking stations around the city with approximately 11500 bikes for hire. The Boris Bike area stretches from Clapham to Camden (South to North) and Shepherd Bush to Blackwell (West to East).

Now sponsored by Santander Bank, the hiring of the Bike has become easier with the introduction of a new mobile App called Santander Cycles. With this App you can check the route and the number of bikes available on each docking station. The App comes in very handy for tourists who are often not sure of their whereabouts in the city. In order to get a bike, all you need to do is to go to the App, search for the nearest docking station and availability of the bike, you will receive a code which you need to enter into the docking station to unlock the bike. The payment will be deducted automatically depending on how long you have the bike for. The App is supported by both Apple and Android platforms. Your can download the App from here if you are on Android and for Apple customers use this link to get the App.
