Emojis – Not just a pretty face!

Emoji-Passwords

We all know what an emoji is but none of us saw this one coming. Instead of using numbers as a pass code while logging into their Bank Accounts online, A British firm devised new method in which people will use 4 Emoji characters instead of a traditional 4 digit numeric pin to login. Memory Expert Tony Buzan, who invented the Mind Map technique said, ‘‘we remember more information when it’s in pictorial form, that’s why the Emoji Passcode is better than traditional PINs.The Emoji Passcode plays to humans’ extraordinary ability to remember pictures, which is anchored in our evolutionary history.’’

The same results are being depicted by a piece of research in which it is shown that humans tend to remember pictures more than the numbers. However it will be confusing and hard to remember different Emoji pass codes for different accounts as mentioned by Professor Mike Jackson of Birmingham University. Moreover these Emoji pass codes are not replacing pins at ATM machines and while shopping in shops and users still need to remember their numeric pins also until the time Emoji passwords can cover it all.
