Samsung Dominate Smartphone Market In India

Samsung are continuing to dominate the smartphone market in India with a 25% market share in Q3 of 2014. Micromax and Karbonn were not too far behind them with 20% and 10% market share. China’s smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi  are though apparently making inroads on the tech giant and it will be interesting to see how things develop over the next 12 months.

Tarun Pathak is a senior analyst at Counterpoint research and he was quoted as saying “Samsung led this price band during the quarter but the share is being chipped away by Micromax, Lava and the new entrants such as Motorola and Xiaomi,”

Samsung Cheaper Smartphones
Samsung and Micromax are closely matched vying for the top spot in the overall smartphone market, as Samsung had a 15.1% share of the overall handset market, while Micromax had 14.5% share,
