First we heard that Emoji is replacing pins while buying in store or online. Now Mastercard is working on an application which will likely to replace account passwords with selfie taken while shopping online. This idea came as to make online sale more secure. Passwords tend to be forgotten or hacked. While giving an interview to CNN MasterCard executive Ajay Bhalla said, “We want to identify people for who they are, not what they remember, we have too many passwords to remember and this creates extra problems for consumers and businesses. The new generation, which is into selfies … I think they’ll find it cool. They’ll embrace it.”

The App however is still in its trial period and the company is testing it with 500 of its customers at an initial stage
