StoreDot Create Smartphone Battery To Charge In 2 Minutes
Some more news from the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas is that StoreDot have created a smartphone battery to charge In 2 Minutes. StoreDot are an American startup that specialise in nanotechnology and they have developed a smartphone battery that is chargeable in less than 2 minutes.
They have showcased the super fast charger at the CES and they are hopeful that the product will actually be in production by 2017. StoreDot made several demonstrations at the show and charged a Samsung Galaxy S5 in under 2 minutes. The 2 minute charge will give the smartphone 5 hours of battery life. StoreDot’s CEO Doron Myersdorf said “This is not trivial, it took us a lot of research. This is a design that is trying to achieve something that was not the goal before. Nobody thought about giving you less energy, everybody thought about giving you more energy.”
StoreDot’s batteries are more expensive so their inclusion in a device will probably add about $50 (about £30) onto the price.
