Time for Apple

The Apple Watch was finally released into the world today as first shipments departed from Apple and the devices went on sale in upmarket stores such as Colette in Paris and Maxfield in Los Angeles today.

Having been highly anticipated worldwide since its unveiling in September 2014, its scarcity is keeping its allure in tact.  The stylish smart watch has only been seen in the public realm on A-List celebrities such as Beyonce and Pharell and many customers who placed a pre-order for the Apple Watch this month have been told that they won’t receive the device until late May or even June in some cases… As Apple affirm their position in the wider luxury lifestyle market with their “most personal” device ever released, the questions on whether it will deliver and what exactly will it deliver remain unanswered.

The Apple Watch’s features promises to streamline health monitoring, digital communication and good old fashioned  time telling with the touch of the wrist.  With integrated payment systems, passbook and hundreds of useful third party Apps in the pipeline, it is bound to offer a great deal of convenience as time and energy will be saved rummaging for keys and credit cards and whatnot.

And although the 24th April was the promised release date, Apple Watch are leaving much of the world in suspense with this one.  But then again, as the Apple Watch and its beautiful design blurs the boundary between fashion and tech, it is app that the watch would arrive on our wrists fashionably late.
